16 oz is my favorite size for a travel bottle but another vote to develop a splash guard for the 16 oz wide mouth. Love your products. Just ordered some small travel bottles to replace a very old set of Nalgene travel bottles.
Would be 5 stars but for the lack of this needed accessory. That 5th star is the carrot to get busy.
Oh well, made if 5 stars anyway because I like your products too much to deprive you.
PS. make a guard for splashes for the 16oz. 🙂

The 16-oz Nalgene wide mouth bottle is a must in my carry-on bag when I travel, especially water refilling stations are becoming more common in airports nowadays. It’s more compact than the narrow mouth version, and thus is easier to pack. If the hotel I am staying in also has water refilling stations, then I’ll either bring a second 16-oz bottle or a 32-oz bottle, depending on the purpose of the trip and how much space I have in my suitcase. The BPA or even the BPA-free debates have left me mostly confused. So I use stainless steel bottles whenever possible. But when I have to optimize weight and space, I turn to my Nalgene bottles.

I like the size of the bottle for the kids, but find it odd that it isn’t a traditional wide mouth size. I got it with the intention of kids backpacking and being able to attach the water filter to it, but since it is not a standard wide mouth it won’t fit. We also can’t swap cap types or find splash guards for them. We have one of the 12oz kids bottles and that is a standard wide mouth, so not sure why 16oz is an odd ball mouth size.
Aside from that, standard Nalgene quality and we are happy with it.

Ordered the green 16 oz wide mouth and the quality is really sad. Definitely not the Nalgene I remember. The lid strap is too tight for the cap to freely turn and there are sloppy little bits of untrimmed, peeling plastic all over it. Pretty disappointed.

I own and use many of these 16 ounce bottles. However, you REALLY need to make the splashguard sipper insert to fit this size like you do the 32 ounce. These are hard to drink out of without spilling if you are on the move. PLEASE make the mini splashguards for these!

I keep this little guy in my climbing gym bag, it’s great! saves a lot of space in the pack and fits in a cupholder. I would love it if you guys would make a 20oz version with the same diameter. all the electrolyte packets call for 16oz of water and I’ll either spill or over season myself with a concentrated brew whenever I mix one up.

I love my 16 oz. It’s my “smellables” bottle when on a longer backpacking trip.
However.
This “wide mouth” isn’t the same wide mouth as the 32 oz & 48 oz, so biting a chug cap or finding a splash guard is impossible. It’s just too big to drink out of without spilling! It’s a great size for adding electrolyte tablets or for making tea or coffee.
Please, I’m begging you, develop a silicone splash guard and/or replacement cap with a chug or even a straw option.
Sincerely,
Coffee all over my shirt

Thanks for the recommendation! We’ve heard this before and will talk with our Product Team, but hopefully you’ll consider a 16oz Narrow Mouth in the meantime.

I’ve been traveling with my Nalgene 16oz wide-mouth bottle for years. So long as I screw on the lid carefully (and testing by turning bottle upside down), the bottle has never, ever leaked.
One thing I keep wishing, though, is for Nalgene to sell a sipper attachment for this 16 oz bottle like they do for their 32/48 oz ones. I’ve had too many spills trying to sip a drink on long, hot and bumpy bus rides!

Why don’t these “monochrome bottles” have the measurement markings on them like all the other bottles? Seems like a huge miss, as it is incredibly handy when camping etc. 3 stars for no markings, otherwise a 5.

Hi Justin – We did a one time, limited edition run with no graduations. Going forward (sometime this Summer) all Monochrome bottles will have our standard Nalgene graduations. Thanks! – Nalgene Team

This is the perfect little Nalgene. We used it for a trip to Disney World and it was perfect size and wasn’t too heavy once fully-filled. I love the colors too!
Charlie
Great size for daily drinking. Love the orange and green colors. Fits in most cup holders, which is a nice perk!
