Not Durable. My wife dropped one while holding it waist height and it cracked. I thought it was a fluke so we got a warranty replacement. Within a week, she dropped it again while unpacking her car and it shattered.
Sure, you could say that we shouldn’t have dropped the bottle, but it happens and things can slip out of your hands. The fact is that these water bottles, after falling from only 3 to 4 feet off the ground should not break!

Made of Eastman Tritan, although BPA-free, still with plenty of estrogenic activity. They are doing everything they can to hide it.

no material details.
medium quality (brand new lit does not fit like it should).

“Material: Durable”
Really, Nalgene? The material specification is “durable”? That’s pathetic. I expected specific and useful information from a company that made its mark in chemistry labs around the world.

I love these 48oz bottles. I bought one of each for myself and parents. It’s helping them drink water more instead of going through all those plastic 12oz bottles from the grocery store. They’re durable and water just looks good in them.

Nalgene bottles are, in my opinion, the best on the market today! I’ve tried nearly a dozen types & styles over the last 25 years, and Nalgene bottles are the only bottles that have stood the test of time, & durability! They’ve held up to freezing water inside (see below), day & night for 20 years. None of them have split or cracked, the entire time I’ve owned them (see below).
I’ve owned 3 of the 48 oz bottles for over a decade. My practice is to add 24 oz of water, then lean them at a 45 degree in the freezer. In the early evening I pull one out, fill it up to the 32;oz line with cold water, place a special top on them (it has a handle & can be opened with a thumb to drink from), and put them in a bottle sleeve to keep it as cold for as long as I need them. Doing this gives me ice cold water all evening & through the night. I own 3 bottles because it takes over 12 hours to fully freeze (from about 9AM to some time in the very early morning of the next day).
Other Nalgene bottles I own & use (for various purposes).
4 32 oz wide mouth (these were the 1st Nalgene bottles, and have owned these for over 20 years). These take the same freezing process only using 16 oz of water, used during the day).
2 32 oz narrow mouth (I can’t chug-a-lug a lot of ice cold water at time. These are only put in the refrigerator and can be used as needed.
Several 16 oz narrow mouth Bottles, 1 per grandchild.
1 12 oz w the “Grip & Gulp” top for the youngest grandkids.
They other benefit is their price. Compared to others I have tried, they are the best price, and far more durable. The Nalgene bottles are the only bottles I have frozen water in, in the freezer.
Every other bottle, from so many different companies, have failed. Either the top has broken, was shattered (when accidentally dropped), or the bottles themselves have developed a split along the sides.
You can’t go wrong with Nalgene bottles!!
