DO NOT BUY! My kids are 4.5 and 6 and cannot close the lids by themselves. I even have a hard time getting them to click. Kicking myself for not noticing that Nalgene doesn’t allow returns or refunds. I just spent a lot of precious money on water bottles that my kids can’t even use independently. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

We are 70 and 75 years old and love these bottles. When I have fellow seniors at church and the senior center hold them they want one. But, you have taken the indents out and the seniors all agree the indents make it more comfortable to hold. A common comment is that they are just the right size – not heavy when filled like the bigger ones.
I would like to give them for Christmas, but they need indents.

miss the indents on the newer design. still a family favorite. locking lid is great. like the shape of the drinking spout. haven’t had any trouble with top heaviness, but maybe that’s because we always close the bottles betwen sips. Wish the 12oz came in more adult friendly color options like the 24oz

Lids are top heavy and weight is off center when opened. This design has been the cause of a lot of spills..these are now banned in our house. Sad to see this design so widely used throughout the line.

These are super durable bottles. We’ve had a few last from daycare days through early middle school. However, the older OTF bottles had side indents for smaller handles to more easily grip the bottles. They changed the shape slightly a few years ago and no longer have the indent which is more difficult for little hands to hold. If they brought back the indent, it would be five stars.

The tops are difficult to close and heavy enough to topple the bottle if it’s not completely full. I despise these lids. They are so bad my son’s teacher actually asked me to get new bottles or new lids.
